How to read a certificate of analysis (COA)
A COA summarizes batch testing for identity, purity, and sometimes residual solvent classes depending on the panel selected by the laboratory.
Typical sections
- Identification: confirms the intended primary sequence or molecular signature.
- Purity: chromatographic purity as a percentage with method noted.
- Appearance: physical description of the received material.
- Storage: recommendations for lyophilized stability windows.
Batch matching
Always verify the batch number printed on the label against the COA filename and report body.
